BESTCHARGE and the City of Differdange launch their first fast-charging site for electric vehicles

A new stage in the energy transition in the heart of southern Luxembourg

Visit BESTCHARGE electric recharging networkdeveloped by Petro-Center, continues to expand with a new strategic partnership with the City of Differdange. The first fast-charging site has just been officially opened on the Avenue de la Liberté parking lot, in the immediate vicinity of the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM).

A total of 6 50 kW fast-charging stations are now available to motorists, enabling efficient recharging in under 30 minutes, ideal for hospital users, local residents and visitors.

An ambitious project: 51 terminals, 9 sites, 100 dedicated spaces

This first deployment is part of a global project run jointly by Petro-Center and the municipality of Differdange, with a clear ambition: to facilitate the mass adoption of electric mobility on a local scale. The program includes :

• 19 ultra-fast charging stations ranging from 50 to 300 kW, at 9 strategic sites,

• 32 11 kW alternating current (AC) terminals for standard recharging,

• Coverage of the entire municipality: Differdange, Niederkorn and Oberkorn,

• More than 100 public parking spaces reserved for electric vehicles.

This intelligent network will meet the varied needs of residents, professionals, businesses and institutions.

Thanks to the BESTCHARGE application and card, users can :

• Locate and reserve a terminal in real time,

• Start and track their refills with ease,

• Access to a pan-European network of over 200,000 terminals.

Following on from Remerschen, Mondorf-les-Bains, Mertert and GRIDX in Wickrange, Differdange becomes a new key point in BESTCHARGE's national deployment strategy. In collaboration with local authorities, businesses and private partners, Petro-Center aims to multiply the number of fast-charging hubs throughout the country, with a target of nearly 200 public charging stations installed by the end of 2025.
