BESTCHARGE and the City of Differdange are launching their first fast-charging station for electric vehicles

A new milestone in the energy transition in southern Luxembourg

The BESTCHARGE electric vehicle charging network, developed by Petro-Center, continues to expand with a new strategic partnership with the City of Differdange. The first fast-charging station has just been officially put into service in the parking lot on Avenue de la Liberté, right next to the Emile Mayrisch Hospital (CHEM).

A total of six 50-kW fast-charging stations are now available to drivers, enabling efficient charging in less than 30 minutes—ideal for hospital staff, local residents, and visitors.

An ambitious project: 51 charging stations, 9 locations, 100 dedicated parking spaces

This initial rollout is part of a comprehensive project led jointly by Petro-Center and the municipality of Differdange, with a clear goal: to facilitate the widespread adoption of electric mobility at the local level. The program includes:

• 19 ultra-fast charging stations ranging from 50 to 300 kW, located at 9 strategic sites,

• 32 11-kW AC charging stations for standard charging,

• Coverage throughout the entire municipal area: Differdange, Niederkorn, and Oberkorn,

• More than 100 public parking spaces reserved for electric vehicles.

This smart network will meet the diverse needs of residents, professionals, businesses, and institutions.

Following Remerschen, Mondorf-les-Bains, Mertert, and GRIDX in Wickrange, Differdange is becoming a new key hub in BESTCHARGE’s national deployment strategy. In collaboration with municipalities, businesses, and private partners, Petro-Center aims to expand the network of fast-charging hubs across the country, with a goal of installing nearly 200 public charging stations by the end of 2025.
